“Plane” is a song written and performed by singer Jason Mraz. It appeared on his second studio album Mr. A-Z and runs a little over five minutes long.

It’s also a rather melancholy song compared to many of his other works, considering the theme - it’s about flying, which you think would be uplifting, but it’s more about Mraz leaving somebody who he cared for behind as he hops on a plane. The plane is much more of an escape than it is liberating: he wants it to stay in the air for as long as possible, otherwise he’ll start to remember the person he left behind and hurt again.

Just describing a song is dull, though, so here’s two things to help - the lyrics and a video for the song itself. Switch the thing on and sing along. (Yes, it’s a sing-along video. Just watch as he sings and you’ll be able to sing just fine.)

Jason Mraz, you multi-talented young man, you. It seems the occasionally eccentric but always genius singer is off on a new tour to promote his newest album, We Sing. We Dance. We Steal Things. - and he’s got more planned that even that.

The tour will begin in October 2008 with Scranton, Pa. and stretch through the majority of December. He’ll be bringing Lisa Hunnigan along for most of the concert dates, too, no less.

The other news? It looks like Mraz is a fan of photography. He’s going to be putting together a book of his own photos called A Thousand Things. Set for release in October, A Thousand Things will feature 54 photos taken by Mraz with his trusty Polaroid. Keep your eyes peeled for it.

“Wordplay” is the first single released in 2005 by Jason Mraz from his album Mr. A-Z. It was his second song to hit the Billboard Hot 100 (topping at number 81), and was the most successful single to come off Mr. A-Z.

And boy, does it have a strange video. The whole thing is set in a field, and the band’s playing its instruments in the grass; however, with them is a guitar-playing wizard. But apparently their guitar playing is too much for a passing old man, who starts to throw stones at Mraz. Not long after a long lineup of peasants arrives and they all start to lob stones at Mraz.

But he plays on, undaunted, occasionally getting knocked over by the oncoming stones, still smiling and rhyming all the while, the peasants soon joined by punk rockers, all still hurling their stones. By the end Mraz is bloodied and horribly injured, covered in wounds, a little spout of blood coming out one shoulder.

Yet he doesn’t seem to care, and by the end it’s revealed that he’s also the wizard as well.

… interesting take. It’s a funny video, at any rate, if a little bizarre, and the lyrics are extremely catchy.

Jason Mraz knows how to have a good time. What’s more, he doesn’t seem to have a problem doing it looking however he wants to look.

“Geek in the Pink” is good proof. The entire video is Mraz dancing around the streets in a pink shirt that reads ‘Otaku’ (a japanese name for those obsessed with anime or manga) letting people sample his songs with a bulky pair of headphones. And, as the song says (if you can understand what he’s saying; Mraz has one of the fastest mouths int he west), he doesn’t care what people think of the way he looks: in fact he seems to revel in the attention.

“Geek in the Pink” was one of two singles released in 2005 to promote Mraz’s album Mr. A-Z (the other being his arguably most popular song “Wordplay”). It was extremely popular on iTunes and was sung by Chris Richardson on American Idol and Greg Neufeld during the fifth season of Canadian Idol.

Expert singer and compulsive hat-wearer Jason Mraz is a powerful figure in the music world these days. His beautiful music, drawn from a wide variety of different genres, entrances listeners everywhere. And there’s no better proof of his inspirational acoustic stylings than in The Beauty in Ugly.

Crafted for the hit TV show Ugly Betty, Beauty in Ugly discusses the difficulty of growing up in a world filled with “pretty people” whose concern is primarily on skin-deep attraction. Mraz, however, pushes his listeners to embrace that which they’d normally be ashamed of and be happy with who they are rather than try and change to be somebody else.

In the end it’s the perfect message to give to a materialistic world such as this, and the best addition to a show the likes of Ugly Betty. Give it a listen if you’re having a bad day and it’s sure to lighten your mood.

See below for Jason Mraz’s The Beauty in Ugly with lyrics

The Beauty in Ugly Lyrics

she’s so big hearted,
but not so remarkable
just an ordinary humble girl
expecting nothing as we’re made to think
its a pretty person’s world

but you are beautiful and you better go show it
go look again, you gotta be true to your own
if you really wanna go to the top
do you really wanna win?
don’t believe in living normal, just to satisfy demand

well if you wanna get free
and if you wanna do the passionate thing
and if you wanna get smart for the sake of your heart
you should own your name and stand up tall
and get real and see the beauty in ugly

well you are fresh, you’re face is fabulous
don’t forget you’re one of a kind
when nobody is checking the deeds you’ve done
and nobody is hearing your cries
you make all of the fashion statements
just by dressing up your mind

well if you wanna get free
and if you wanna do the passionate thing
and if you wanna get smart for the sake of your heart
you should own your name and stand up tall
and get real and see the beauty in ugly
and see the beauty in ulgy

well if you wanna get free
and if you wanna do the passionate thing
and if you wanna get smart for the sake of your heart and oh
you should own your name and stand up tall
and get real and see the beauty in ugly
see the beauty in a ulgy

Jason Mraz is a popular singer with new fans and old alike. His fresh perspective on a wide range of genres, from pop to rock to jazz and back again virtually confirms that he’ll have a lot of fans. And his latest song, I’m Yours, is no exception.

Jason Mraz I M Yours was the first single released on his latest album, We Sing, We Dance, We Steal Things. Featuring a series of other songs coupled with very amateur drawings of Mraz and a variety of musical instruments (in the case of I’m Yours, a microphone), We Sing, We Dance, We Steal Things was the launching pad for the highly acclaimed I’m Yours, which featured a music video of Mraz singing as he travels across the country to a number of idyllic landscapes. The music is appropriately idyllic, as well, and can calm even the most savage listener with its calming lyrics and beautiful acoustic renderings.

Check out Jason Mraz’s I’m Yours below with lyrics:

I’m Yours Lyrics

Well, you done done me and you bet I felt it
I tried to be chill but your so hot that i melted
I fell right through the cracks, and i’m tryin to get back
before the cool done run out i’ll be givin it my best test
and nothin’s gonna stop me but divine intervention
I reckon it’s again my turn to win some or learn some

I won’t hesitate no more,
no more, it cannot wait i’m yours

Well open up your mind and see like me
open up your plans and damn you’re free
look into your heart and you’ll find love love love
listen to the music at the moment maybe sing with me
Ah, la peaceful melody
It’s your god forsaken right to be loved loved loved loved Loved

So, i won’t hesitate no more,
no more, it cannot wait i’m sure
there’s no need to complicate our time is short
this is our fate, i’m yours

*scat*

I’ve been spendin’ way too long checkin’ my tongue in the mirror
and bendin’ over backwards just to try to see it clearer
my breath fogged up the glass
and so I drew a new face and laughed
I guess what I’m a sayin’is there ain’t no better reason
to rid yourself of vanity and just go with the seasons
it’s what we aim to do
our name is our virtue

I won’t hesitate no more, no more
it cannot wait, i’m sure
(there’s no need to complicate
our time is short
it cannot wait, i’m yours 2x

no please don’t complicate, our time is short
this is our fate, im yours.
no please don’t hesitate no more, no more
it cannot wait, the sky is yours!)

well open up your mind and see like me
open up your plans and damn you’re free
look into your heart and you’ll find love love love love
listen to the music of the moment come and dance with me
ah, la one big family
it’s your god forsaken right to be loved, loved, loved, loved
open up your mind and see like me
open up your plans and damn you’re free
look into your heart and you’ll find love love love love
it’s our god forsaken right to be loved loved loved loved
